Boston Red Sox Act Like They Don’t Want to Win
Posted by Lake Arlington | Friday, December 19th, 2008

WTF is wrong with boy genius Theo and the the Boston Red Sox?

First they let one of the best hitters EVER get away for a bag of mangoes and Jason Bey, then they sit by while the Yanks sign up CC Sabathia AND AJ Burnett and now we get word that they were too soft in the wallet to sign Mark Teixeira?

Ha..  great picture and oh yes, those new baseball hats are terrible too.  Even David Ortiz can’t smile at these recent developments.

Remember these days?

They seem like they’re looong, loong, gone.  Because from the looks of things, winning left Boston around the same time Lake did.  Terrible.

Game over?

AHNT! You don’t want that AJ Burnett, Lake. I’ve been following dude since he was in Florida. He’s the classic tale of “yeah, he’s got great stuff, but he ain’t sh*t.”

I mean yeah, he’s got some pitches. And since AJ went upside the Yankees heads last year, I understand the “if you can’t beat em, overpay for their services” idea. But he isn’t worth it.

Dude only pitches well in contract years. Not to mention he is injury prone. They’ll probably get two good years max out of him.

And no one give me that “well, he has a ring” nonsense. Yeah, while he does have a ring, it was Dontrelle, Pavano, Beckett, Penny, and Redman who won that championship for the Marlins. AJ, their “ace”, was injured for the majority of that year.

And CC….you know I’m an Indians fan, so I don’t even need to say anything beyond that.

“If you can’t beat em, buy em” is no way to build a team. Look at the Yankees, always a contender, but it doesn’t mean anything. If the owner goes out and buys last year’s all star team, they damn well should be a contender.

The team you have in Boston now was a game away from the world series last year. That’s a good year for anybody. I think this last decade in Boston sports has you pampered with the Celtics, Pats, and BoSox all kicking ass. Perhaps you need to apply a broader perspective to your concept of success?

And Manny Ramirez is the truth, but Jason Bay isn’t exactly a scrub. Besides, you can’t uncurdle milk, that relationship was done. Manny was out of Boston.

Also, hopefully these Bruins will keep handling business and make a hockey fan out of you yet. I won’t judge you when you jump on the bandwagon either, better to be late than stubborn.

got damn! i gotta admirt in “Da Bay” it’s A’s all day but nothin makes me feel better than watchin the damn Yankees get a whuppin! Here’s an early Man Up! to Boston…step your game up. The yanks choke every year if tampa and boston dont let em coasty thru the first half. “Git ‘er done”-Larry the Cable Guy
