Classic Material: Old School Commercials
Posted by Lake Arlington | Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m a big commercial buff.  In fact, I have a friend in advertising who needs to put a nilla down, but that’s another story.  Yep, I’m all over those old school Louie the LIghtening Bugs, that Coke Commercial where they teach the world to sang and of course, and even that completely hot Irish Spring throwback with the wild Irishman hitting that one long note that really stuck the landing.  Anyway, I was bumping around the internet and I came across this oldie but goodie:

Now that’s old school!  I’m talking Voltron followed by the Transformers, followed by Jem, followed by He-Man, followed (sadly) by She-Ra, followed by GI Joe old school. Peep how Busta Rhymes jacked it for the hook on “Dangerous”:

I know, I know, the Bill on Capitol Hill wants a piece of the action.  So too do those hot Prudential commercials with the cats barely escaping death only to find out that their candy asses are already dead.  And yes I do know all these damn commercials off the top of my dome.  It’s sad, but I am the keeper of completely useless information. And no Todd or whoever, I didn’t forget about the Silver Hawks, the Thundercats or even the Gummy Bears who quietly had the hottest, albeit bitchy, intro song ever.  In fact, f*ck it, run my sh*t!

I know, I know, Duck Tails, but did they have the secret of Gummi Berry Juice?  I don’t think so… p
