US Auto Industry: “It’s so Cold in the D”
Posted by Lake Arlington | Friday, December 12th, 2008

“….so how the f*ck are suppose to make cheese, all on a nillaz mind…”

Boy, it’s been a f*cked up year for the city of DEtroit:

1.  Kwame Kilpatrick was getting his bang out, mic checka, “I did not have sex with dat—,” textual chocolate, perjury indictment, thrown the farg out of office, get your arse checked the direct-it-tally into the smackdown hotel aka jailhouse.

And that’s only if you choose to ignore the dead stripper, player mayor, wife whoopin ass allegations. Jeez.

2.  The Detroit Lions are about to “run the table in reverse” if I may steal that from Jim Rome, and literally go 0-16 in an NFL season, a feat that’s probably harder to do than go 16-0.

3.  And this might be the worst of all these things, T-Baby came out with this god awful rendition of the now infamous “It’s so cold in the d, how da’ fuk do we ‘post to git peace” song..  haaa  let’s run that sh*t again:

4.  Congress refuses to chip off $24 Bill in bailout loot to trash auto manufacturers of terrible cars none of us actually want to buy.

Hey UAW, I recognize that your pop’s pops and his brother and all your janky ass uncles and cousins ate off the US Auto Industry for more than 50 years, but the f*cking jig is up.

Nobody wants to subsidize your candy asses any more.  Nobody wants to pay for you to sit your punk ass up and play connect 4 all day and nobody wants to pay for that quadruple bypass surgery due to your 30 year string of eating that extra thick double brontesaurus burger and 6 beers on Friday night.

Yep, that’s right.  You’re going to have to EARN IT like everyone else now.  The truth is, your product sucks, you’re OVERPAID and UNDERWORKED and everyone knows it except you.  I think I can speak for the rest of the country in saying that I had an extra smirk on my face this morning when I fired up my “Ultimate Driving Machine” of the German variety.  We’ve had it with your foolishness.

And we’re happy that our equally stupid, unqualified and useless Prez-o-dent Dubyah will have to be the one to give you some jack so you can survive until March.

Oh yeah, that makes PERFECT sense.  AHNT

So, how is this bailout any less stupid than the one given to the financial firms? Oh, I forgot, rich people were adversely affected, so that’s why we needed to save Wall St. How is that working for Us? i mean, sure, I am quite sure that all of Us are straight, but what about the larger collective?

  2. Wall Street has their hands in all of our pockets like it or not. “Losing” the big three would be an impact, yes, but not like losing the banks. Plus, they wouldn’t actually be lost, just restructured.

No money moving around and nothing works. But let me tell you this, maybe even that bailout was a waste! That doesn’t mean we double down on the D just because it’s so cold.

Let the D stop making terrible cars that nobody wants to drive and what really happens to Joe Smo living in oh say, Tallahassee Florida…not much. Plus, they just want the money to stay solvent through March…then what will they do? Make those cars more dependable? I don’t think so.

There may be a bit of classism here, but why prop up companies that make inferior products? I don’t see anyone bailing out Arby’s. Be, I know you have a soft place for everything D, and harsh criticism too, but the people don’t want this bailout. It’s not just Us, it’s Them too.

epic post lakey, i can’t find fault with a single thing you said. getting paid $30 an hour with full benefits AND full pensions? who the fux gets pensions? shit, i’m strugglin to even get a bonus/raise/tax break and my 401 has lost 62%…

i too will smile as i start my car of the bavarian persuasion and shit on the amurrican POS’s in the right lane.

  4. Ian M. Summers says:

    $30/hr x 40 hr/wk = 1200/wk

    1200/wk x 52 = $62k annually

That’s a good living, but it’s not crazy loot or anything. That said my wheels aren’t American.

Also Be, don’t be so sure all of Us are straight. I work(ed) for a company that just laid off half their employees. On top of that the soup kitchens serving clam chowder. I fucking hate clam chowder. C’est la vie.

  5. Be On It says:

    @ Ian

Sorry dude. I too hate clam chowda, so I hate to imagine what you’re going through.

Thank you Lake, and fellas, for opening my eyes. I guess I just hate to think of all the people already struggling to find jobs in the Midwest who are going to be assed out. And, then, they are going to move south, making everything more difficult down here than it already is.

  6. Ian M. Summers says:

No worries Be, next week is chicken noodle soup. Congress is currently meeting to discuss subsidizing sodas on the side (fingers crossed).

  7. AMAROSA says:

WOAH U kno I have to comment. Actually from the BIG 3 alone it will be about 3 million jobs effected, then the 2 million more jobs of those that are third party production connected to the Big 3 like tool & dye the steel industry. Then trust the rest of us will feel it like crazy cuz thats 5 million people that wont be able to pay their house note and will in turn drag on the economy more than what they’re even asking for. Seriously if the Canadian government is RUSHING to give the US Auto industry $3 billion without them even askin for it… trust its not gonna be pretty

I must admit I drive a BMW now but that was a gift from my husband right before we were married and free is all game!!! But before then I got discounts thru my grandparents that each worked at Ford and GM. Trust that they have finally gotten the message these past few years and worked on better realibility. Cuz that Tahoe aint no joke it automatically turns from an 8 cylindar to a 4 when ur on the highway.. how cool is that. I did a commercial on my show so I know lol

Atleast the AUTO industry is honest that they MESSED UP big time!!! Wall street got a golden pass no questions asked like it was their RIGHT to get a bail out. Lemme tell u something factory workers work their asses off physically harder than most of us ever will in a lifetime. Trust thats why my parents went to college so they wouldnt have to. Now I’m terrified wonderin when my gramma’s insurance will be cut from Ford’s benefits that she put 30 years in for.

People have a negative opinion on this town because they THINK blue collar work doesnt concern them but it does.

BTW Lake u know I love u but ur still a Nilla that from the sounds of the smoke in mirrors image u try to portray like u aint never struggled or were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Please lets stop pretending like everyone’s life is so glamorous and everyone is just straight ballin. Please even tho I’m tryna be a doctor… i worked PR in Hollywood so I know the fake effect we all want people to believe. If we’re so concerned about it then we should go volunteer or do something if we got it like that.. lol
