Man Boy J. Blanco hit me with the text message Saturday afternoon letting me know my work for Man Up Monday was already done.  “ND loses to Navy…Man Up!”  And looking through the archives, although Lake and I have both gone in hard on Notre Dame, Charlie Weis, and Brady Quinn, ND has never gotten Man Up Monday honors.  We’ll today is your day.

When I saw the college football matchups Saturday morning and saw Navy v. ND, I said to myself, “Navy plays ND tough, they better watch out.”  Sure enough, Charlie and the boys didn’t let me down, Navy got em and won it ugly.  First they go down 14 to nada at the half, then as they try to battle back, they still end up down 21-7 at the end of the third.  If you can believe it, the game actually gets uglier from there.  Notre Dame actually gets a chance to win it at the end of the game and gives up a safety with a minute left.  Then just to let people know that they actually could have won the game, they recovered an onside kick and cut the lead to 2…those two points from the safety.  So tough.  Luckily, I’ve seen the future, and Jimmy Clausen will still win the Heisman, they will give him some championship rings, name him a hall of famer, and apparently he will also become a Super Saiyan.

I’m not always trying to hate on Notre Dame but the one thing Us Versus Them does is call bullshit when we see it.  Charlie Weis has the worst record of any coach in Notre Dame History.  Notre Dame has never won a big game under Charlie Weis.  Notre Dame plays against garbage Big East teams to get their record up.  Notre Dame is somehow on national TV every single week like Joe Theisman still plays there.  Oh, and by the way, Notre Dame is never…ever…going to be good again.

So next week, they should catch an L from Pittsburgh, UConn might play em tough after playing Cincinnati tough, and Stanford just beat Oregon, so ND might go 6-6 this year.

So Notre Dame needs to Man Up and realize the dream is over.

I do have one question for Charlie Weis though.

When was the first time he decided to go around the belly with his pants?  How large do you think those are?  56 inch waist?  Personally I’d prefer the beer belly underhook approach.
